SIBAS works on a yearly contract basis with farmers for tomatoes in order to control the production from the initial stages. The seeds, fertilizers and agricultural pesticides used are selected with strict care. The inspection of the production at the agricultural stage has always been critical for SIBAS to ensure the highest quality requirements.
For drying purposes, an area of 150,000 m2 owned by SIBAS is kept free from outside interference. It is obvious that the hygienic control of a process taking place in open air is rather difficult. However, there is an important locational advantage of SIBAS, and the 15 hectares irrigated land where the tomatoes are dried is owned by SIBAS. The area is surrounded by wet land that protects the tomatoes from dust, hay and other foreign substances. Through this advantage, SIBAS is the only company carrying the "OUTDOOR HACCP" certificate in Turkey.
In the following stage, the dried tomatoes are placed in cold storage under strict hygienic conditions. Consequently, the necessary product classifications are made and packaging is accomplished according to the requirements of our customers. Finally, the packed products are reinstalled in the cold storage area until the shipping date
The dried-tomatoes are microbiologically, physically and chemically controlled at every stage of production in our own laboratories. By utilizing the "HACCP" and "Higher Level BRC" quality assurance systems that is widely practiced in Europe and the U.S.A., the production is checked at every stage including drying phase towards our total quality. |
